"Yes, Pentax are working on a DSLR positioned above the current K10D.
No, it won't be full frame. Pentax has choosen APS-C as THE format. A FF sensor won't be compatible with Pentax existing DA lenses, and Pentax spends lots of money on building up their DA lens line.
No, a 70-200 f/2.8 won't happen - but a 50-135 f/2.8 (equals 70-200 f/2.8 on 35mm) is in the works. A 70-300 consumer zoom (probably f/4-5.6) is in the works too.
I hope news about this new high-end DSLR from Pentax will come at the PMA show, but I believe it's not ready enough to go on sale. Perhaps a prototype will be showned."
"Pentax are working on new image processing technology that enhances the images and reduces noise without loosing detail. It is "on the chip" rather than done in software. I had hopes that it should be ready enough for the K10D, but it wasn't.
In the "K1D" (or whatever it will be called) I expect improvements in speed, autofocus and metering. Probably quite much like the K10D in terms of features, but with a performance on a higher level, and probably with a magnesium alloy chassi instead of the stainless steel used in the K10D.
Hopefully, the "K1D" also supports the full implementation of the KAF3 mount - with support for aperture ring on the lenses."
"Yes, Pentax patents regarding optical image stabilisation goes back to the mid -70's.
About supersonic drive - yes, Pentax had developed a working system of autofocus motors inside lenses in the early 90's and this was going to be the new FA serie, but (probably because of the cost to make it backwards compatible) this system never saw the light outside Pentax R&D department. They kept the power zoom from this lens mount and lenses.
They have patended a lens mount called KAF3, which uses the power zoom contacts for driving supersonic motors inside the lenses, this KAF3 mount was patended in the mid 90's and in the late 90's we did expect it to be released. However, this did not happened. (I never understood why Pentax didn't put it in the MZ-S...).
Now, with the K10D, Pentax do use some of this technology again - but it's not a full KAF3 mount because the KAF3 specification uses the aperture ring on the lenses. Perhaps we will see a full implementation (with support for the aperture ring) in the upcoming high-end DSLR from Pentax? One can always hope..."

"Надеемся, что в следующих камерах будет полное применение байонета KAF3 с поддержкой управления кольцом диафрагм на объективах"
